this is my adaptation of a recipe from a book called 'An Indian Housewifes Recipe Book'. The only difference is is that I've added red kidney beans. Ingredients:
1 teaspoon each of mustard seed,chili powder,hing(asofateda from indian shops) turmeric,salt. |
1 large potato peeled and cubed |
1 chopped onion |
rice(i use uncle bens microwavable wholegrain x2 packs) |
oil |
one small can of red kidney beans(drained) |
Directions:
1. first add two tablespoons of oil to a skillet 2. tun on a high heat and fry the spices 3. then add the potato and lower heat and fry for 5 mins till squashable lol 4. then add chopped onion and fry till golden brown 5. add cooked(microwaved)rice and stir thouroughly 6. add red kidney beans 7. fry for 5 minutes on a high heat then serve |
