We've been using this recipe in our family for decades, and this is definitely the best chocolate chip recipe that we have ever used!! We always use REAL butter, REAL vanilla and quality REAL chocolate chips . . .no substitutes! Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups white sugar |
2 cups brown sugar, packed |
2 cups real butter |
3 eggs |
2 tablespoons vanilla |
6 cups sifted flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
2 (12 ounce) bags chocolate chips |
2 cups nuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Blend white sugar, brown sugar, and butter; then cream for 2 more minutes. 3. Add eggs and vanilla and beat till well blended. 4. Sift flour - measure - then sift again with the remaining dry ingredients. Add gradually to the creamed mixture. 5. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls (or cookie scoop) onto an ungreased cookie sheet. 6. Bake at 350 for about 7 - 8 minutes . . . or you can bake at 325 for 15 minutes. |
