Burnt Sugar Frosting

Ingredients:
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup hot water
3/4 cup butter
2 egg yolks
6 cups confectioners' sugar
sugar syrup
Directions:
1. BURNT SUGAR:
2. Pour 3/4 cup sugar into heavy skillet.
3. Cook and stir constantly over low heat until sugar melts and begins to turn a dark golden color.
4. Gradually (and carefully) stir in 3/4 cup HOT water.
5. Cook and stir over low heat until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a boil.
6. Boil and stir for 2 minutes.
7. Cool completely.
8. FROSTING:
9. Cream 3/4 cup butter in large mixer bowl.
10. Add egg yolks and blend well.
11. Add confectioners' sugar and all but 2 tablespoons sugar syrup.
12. Beat to spreading consistency.
13. Frost cake.
14. Drizzle remaining syrup over cake.
