Another recipe from my African cookbook (funny thing, there's only a few pages of actual African recipes). Ingredients:
3 slices bacon |
1/4 cup flour |
salt and pepper, to taste |
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt |
1/4 teaspoon marjoram |
1/4 teaspoon thyme |
2 lbs stewing beef |
2 garlic cloves, chopped |
1/2 cup water |
1 teaspoon beef bouillon powder |
1 cup red wine |
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced |
Directions:
1. Cook bacon. 2. Roll meat in flour, salt, pepper, seasoning salt, marjoram and thyme, and brown in oil. 3. Add and water and cook until water is evaporated. 4. Add the garlic, bouillon, wine and mushrooms and simmer for 2 - 3 hours. |
