You may want to double the filling recipe for this recipe if you make large ones. I also like to flavor filling with chopped parsley and garlic Ingredients:
dough |
1/2 lb. margarine |
1 tsp. salt |
3 cups self-rising flour |
warm water |
stuffing |
1/2 cup cheese (feta) |
1 cup cooked spinach ( drained well and chopped ) |
3 egg yolks |
topping |
1 egg yolk |
sesame seeds |
Directions:
1. Melt the margarine and mix with flour and salt. 2. Add enough warm water until able to roll dough. 3. Roll it, , and cut out circles with a cup or glass 4. Mix all the stuffing ingredients. 5. Put one teaspoon of stuffing on each dough circle. 6. Fold in half. Seal edges well 7. On top, brush with yolk and sprinkle on lots of sesame seeds. 8. Place on a well-greased cookie tray and bake at 350 deg F (180 deg C) until golden (approx. 15-20 min.). 9. Serve hot. 10. Yield: depends on size of circle cut |
