Ingredients:
1 box(es) vanilla cake mix |
2 container(s) whipped white icing |
1 bag(s) jelly beans |
1 can(s) red decorator icing |
Directions:
1. Cook cake as directed in two 8 inch round pans. Let them cool completely. Leave one round as is and cut the other round like the stitching on a baseball (two curves). The two outside pieces are the ears, and the middle of the cut is the bunny's bow tie. I trim it a little as needed so it looks even and fits in the rectangular tupperware container that I have. Spread the icing on the cake very carefully - that is why I call for two containers, you have to be very generous with the icing or there will be pieces of cake all mixed into the icing. Decorate with the red decorator icing, or you can try red shoelace licorice, which is the original recipe but very hard to work with. Decorate as desired with jelly beans. This year my son helped me and decided the ears needed purple jelly beans in addition to the usual pink insides of the ears. You can get as creative as you want. |
