A simple recipe for a crowd where green beans are the main ingredients. This is a perfect recipe if you're looking for something impressive to take to a potluck dinner or to make for a large family feast for one of the holidays.
Ingredients:
5 pounds of cleaned, whole green beans
1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 pound of sliced mushrooms
1 stick of butter
1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. In a large frying pan or wok, heat HALF of the butter, adding the mushrooms as the butter melts over medium high heat.
2. As the mushrooms start to brown, place the green beans directly over the mushrooms and cook for one minute.
3. Stir the vegetables, combining well and let steam for one minute.
4. Add the lemon juice and stir well and cook for 2 minutes, letting the vegetables steam.
5. Stir again and when the green beans are a deep green color, add the rest of the butter and sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
6. Quckly stir together and remove from heat.
7. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to your taste.
8. (Your green beans should be crisp at this point. )
9. You can place it all in a bowl and serve hot or at room temperature.
