This is the easiest and cheapest hors devour you can serve, which is always a crowd pleaser. It's become a routine now at our family gatherings, that I make the bruschetta. Enjoy! Ingredients:
1 loaf of french/italian bread sliced 1/2 thick |
1 can of diced italian tomatoes |
fresh basil chopped |
olive oil |
garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Place slices of bread on a cookie sheet, sprinkle with garlic powder, then bake until the bottom is lightly brown. (about 5 minutes) 3. Flip bread over, and brown the other side. 4. In a small saucepan, heat tomatoes with juice. 5. Place browned pieces of bread on a serving dish. 6. Top bread with tomatoes, followed by fresh basil pieces and pepper. 7. Finish the platter by drizzling olive oil on each piece of bread, and then serve. |
