Brussels Sprouts With Walnuts And Mandarin Oranges |

Never had Brussels Sprouts until a couple years ago...If anyone had told me they were baby cabbages, I would have been eating them forever Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb. fresh brussels sprouts (i've used frozen) |
1/2 cup olive oil |
3 tbls. red wine vinegar |
2 tbls. white wine |
splash of worcestershire sauce |
1 tbls. dijon mustard |
2 tsp. sugar |
1/2 tsp. each of salt and pepper |
2/3 cup walnuts, chopped and toasted |
1/2 cup mandarin orange segments |
Directions:
1. Wash brussels sprouts and remove discolored leaves 2. Cut off stem ends and cut a shallow x on bottom of sprout 3. Add water and brussels sprouts to saucepan 4. Cover and bring to boil 5. Cover and reduce heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until tender 6. (For frozen sprouts, cook according to package directions) 7. Drain, put in serving dish and keep warm 8. In saucepan, combine oil and next 6 ingredients 9. Cook over medium heat until heated through 10. Pour over brussels sprouts 11. Sprinkle with walnuts and mandarin oranges 12. Gently toss to combine |
