These are incredible. Got this from a friend who served this at our dinner club party last week. She made a double batch and had none left. Yummy if you love brussels sprouts. Ingredients:
24 ounces fresh brussels sprouts trimmed and halved lengthwise |
8 ounces bacon diced |
1 granny smith apple diced |
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt |
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves |
Directions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. 2. Prepare an ice water bath and set aside. 3. Add Brussels sprouts to boiling water and cook until color sets about six minutes. 4. Transfer to ice bath until cool then drain well and set aside. 5. Place bacon in a large skillet over medium heat and cook until fat renders and bacon is crisp. 6. Add apples and cook stirring occasionally until apples are browned. 7. Add Brussels sprouts and thyme then toss to combine. 8. Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately. |
