This is an authentic and tasty appetizer to serve with your Italian dinner menu. You'll get rave reviews! Ingredients:
1 loaf of italian bread cut into 1 inch thick slices |
2 large finely chopped tomatoes |
1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese |
2 tablespoons virgin olive oil |
1 teaspoon chopped basil, fresh |
2 teaspoons chopped parsley, fresh |
1/2 finely chopped sweet onion |
1 tablespoon chopped oregano, fresh |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400F (200 degrees C). Combine tomatoes, olive oil, onion, basil, parsley and oregano, basil and parsley in a mixing bowl. Arrange sliced bread on a baking sheet, and spoon tomato mixture evenly on each slice. Top with Parmesan cheese. Place in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until bottom of bread is toasted. Let stand and set on baking sheet for up to 5 minutes. Serve warm and toasty. |
