This recipe was supposed to be 125 years old in 1976. Ingredients:
1 cup sour cream |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
2 eggs, divided |
1 cup sugar |
3 squares baker's chocolate |
1 teaspoon butter |
1 1/4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Add sour cream, salt and egg yolks to sugar.
2. Melt chocolate and butter over boiling water.
3. Add chocolate mix to egg mix.
4. Sift flour and soda and add to mixture.
5. Fold in beaten egg whites.
6. Bake about 30 minutes in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven.
7. Makes 2 small layers or one loaf cake.
