Brownies With Cream Cheese |

I adapted a standard brownie recipe to add the cream cheese topping I like. You can use your favorite brownie recipe, or even a boxed mix for a super easy brownie treat that tastes homemade. Ingredients:
for brownies |
6-8 tbps cocoa (or 3-4 oz unsweetened chocolate) depending how dark you like your browies |
1 c. butter |
2 c. sugar |
3 eggs |
1 3/4 c. flour |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1 tsp. vanilla |
1/4 tsp. baking powder |
1/2 to 1 cup chocolate chips |
for topping |
8 oz cream cheese |
1 egg |
1/4 cup sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350oF. 2. Melt butter and stir in cocoa (or melt both butter and unsweetened chocolate). 3. Stir sugar into butter mixture. 4. Make sure mixture is cool to the touch, add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. 5. Mix together flour, salt and baking powder. 6. Stir flour mixture into chocolate mixture. 7. Stir in chocolate chips. 8. To make topping. Mix together cream cheese (best if at room temp), egg and sugar until smooth. 9. Spread topping over brownies, more or less evenly. Use a knife to mix topping in by swirling slightly. 10. Bake 30-35 minutes. 11. Cool, cut, enjoy! |
