Chocolaty loaf of bread that's not too sweet. Great with peanut butter, toasted, and for breakfast. Kids LOVE it! Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder |
1/2 cup boiling water |
2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast |
2 teaspoons white sugar |
1/2 cup warm water (110 degrees f/45 degrees c) |
3 cups bread flour |
2/3 cup white sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
1 egg |
1 egg yolk |
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, dissolve cocoa powder in boiling water. 2. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast and 2 teaspoons sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes. 3. Place cocoa mixture, yeast mixture, bread flour, remaining 2/3 cup white sugar, salt, vegetable oil and egg in bread machine pan. Select basic Bread cycle; press Start. |
