A homemade slice and bake cookie effort from G-ma Roberts hand written recipe book. Instructions are rather sparse and need some interpretation Ingredients:
2 eggs |
1 tsp salt |
2 cups of brown sugar |
1 cup of melted butter |
3 1/2 cups of all purpose flour |
1 cup of chopped nuts |
1 tsp of soda |
Directions:
1. Beat eggs, add sugar. 2. Add flour, soda and salt. 3. Add nuts and melted butter. 4. Pack into bread tin or roll. 5. Refrigerate over nite. 6. Slice and bake. 7. *note original recipe did not call for baking times or temperature. 8. *line 9 x 5 x 3 glass loaf pan with plastic wrap to make it easier to pull out the loaf of dough. 9. *slice with cold sharp knife in about 1/2 inch thick slices 10. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. 11. Use a silpat if you have it. cool on wire rack. 12. Great with tea. |
