Ingredients:
2 cups sifted flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup butter |
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed |
1 large egg |
1 tablespoon milk |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
granulated sugar, for sprinkling |
Directions:
1. Combine 1 cup flour, baking powder, and salt. 2. Cream together: butter and sugar. 3. Beat in egg, vanilla and milk. 4. Stir in flour mixture, then add enough of the remaining 1 cup flour to make the dough stiff enough to roll. 5. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill several hours. 6. Preheat oven to 375°F. 7. Roll out on a lightly floured cutting board to 1/8 thickness. 8. Use floured cookie cutters to cut into shapes. 9. Place on an ungreased baking sheet, sprinkle with granulated sugar. 10. Bake for 8 minutes. |
