2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons bacon grease |
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon black pepper |
1 1/2 cups cold water |
Directions:
1. In a heavy skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter or grease. 2. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper, blending well. 3. Continue to stir until mixture is dark brown. 4. Add water and reduce heat to a simmer for 5 minutes. 5. Serve warm. |
