An easy recipe to make for the holidays! These cookies can be decorated with colored sprinkles, blanched almonds, or imprinted with a decorative holiday stamp before they are baked! They smell SO good Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
2/3 cup sugar |
1 tbsp vanilla sugar (i used 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp vanilla extract) |
2 1/3 cups flour |
1 tsp baking powder |
any other desired toppings |
Directions:
1. In a small sauce pan, heat the butter on low heat until lightly browned. 2. Add sugar and vanilla sugar to butter mixture 3. Remove from heat and allow to cool 4. Combine flour and baking powder 5. Beat cooled butter mixture into dry mixture to form smooth dough 6. Preheat oven to 325 degrees 7. Roll dough into balls of 1 in diameter and place on baking sheet 8. Press cookies down with tines of fork, or decorative stamp 9. If desired, top with blanched almonds or sprinkles 10. Bake for 20 minutes 11. Allow to cool for 1 minute then move to wire rack |
