Broiled Tomatoes With Marjoram |

An easy and simple side dish. I read somewhere that tomatoes were better for when cooked, so here you go. Ingredients:
4 medium tomatoes |
1 large garlic clove, sliced thin |
4 teaspoons dried marjoram or 4 teaspoons dried oregano |
8 teaspoons olive oil |
salt & freshly ground black pepper |
Directions:
1. Preheat broiler. 2. Cut each tomato in half and arrange cut side up in a shallow baking dish. Insert a sliver of garlic into the center of each half tomato. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Sprinkle marjoram, or oregano, over each half. Sprinkle with olive oil. 3. Broil 8 to 10 minutes, until bubbling and garlic starts to brown. Discard garlic and serve. |
