Broiled Italian Tomato Halves |

I received a lot of side dish recipes from our local store. So I'm posting the ones that sound good. Low fat, low cholesterol, low Carb and low sodium Ingredients:
3 large tomatoes, halved and seeded |
1 tablespoon virgin olive oil |
2 teaspoons italian seasoning |
1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese |
Directions:
1. Place tomato halves on a greased broiler pan, cut-side up. 2. Combine olive oil and seasoning in a small bowl and brush evenly over tomatoes. 3. Broil about 6 inches from heat for 2 to 3 minutes. 4. Sprinkle each tomato half with about 1 tablespoon shredded mozzarella cheese. 5. Broil 1 to 2 minutes more until cheese is lightly browned. 6. Serve immediately. |
