Broccoli With Three Cheeses |

Cream cheese, Cheddar cheese and Blue cheese blend together to make a smooth, rich sauce for broccoli spears. My family loves this dish. I have also used cauliflower instead of broccoli and on one occasion I have used both and it was yummy! Hope you enjoy as much as we do :) Ingredients:
1 bunch broccoli, cut into spears (about 1 1/2 lb) |
1 cup water |
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine |
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
1 cup milk |
3 ounces cream cheese, softened |
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded |
1/3 cup blue cheese, crumbled |
1/4 cup pecans, chopped |
Directions:
1. in dutch oven place broccoli spears, add water, cover, bring to a full boil and cook over medium heat until broccoli is crispy tender, then drain. 2. in a 1-qt saucepan melt butter, stir in flour and pepper. cook over med heat, stirring occasionally until smooth and bubbly. 3. stir in milk and cream cheese, continue cooking, stirring until mixture thickens and comes to a full boil. 4. stir in cheddar cheese and blue cheese, continue cooking, stirring until cheeses are melted. 5. serve cheese sauce over broccoli, sprinkle with pecans. |
