This is the recipe I am always asked to take to family gatherings. Even my son who does not like broccoli likes this really well! A big key to making this is to cut up the broccoli in small bite size pieces - and I add quite a bit of the jalapeno sauce instead of Tabasco! Read more ! Ingredients:
3 stocks broccoli, cut into small bite-size pieces (i don't like to eat trees!) |
1 med red onion, diced (i use about 1/2 an onion -- personally raw onions give me headaches -- but i love the flavor) |
1 red bell pepper, diced |
dressing |
1/2 cup miracle whip or mayonnaise |
2 tbs vinegar |
1/3 cup sugar (i use less -- go by taste) |
dash tabasco sauce -- (i use tabasco's jalapeno sauce and i use quite a bit -- it's to taste) |
plus |
1 pound bacon, cooked, drained, crumbled |
1/2 cup toasted sunflower seeds |
raisins can be added, too |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients, except the bacon and sunflower seeds, chill. Just before serving, toss in the bacon and seeds and it will be a hit! |
