Not sure where I found this recipe, but it sounds simple and good. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs broccoli |
3/4 cup chicken broth |
2 tablespoons oil |
1 tablespoon ginger, finely slivered |
1 scallion, shredded |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 1/2 tablespoons oyster sauce |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1 teaspoon cornstarch |
2 teaspoons chicken broth |
Directions:
1. Break broccoli into florets, peel stems and cut into 1-inch pieces. 2. Bring 3/4 cup broth to boil in medium saucepan. 3. Add broccoli stems, cover and cook until crisp-tender, 3 to 4 minutes. 4. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup broth. 5. Heat oil in wok or large skillet. 6. Add ginger, onion and garlic and stir fry 1 minute. 7. Add broccoli stems and florets and stir fry 2 minutes. 8. Add oyster sauce, sugar and 1/2 cup broth and stir fry 2 minutes. 9. For thicker sauce, stir in cornstarch dissolved in 2 teaspoons broth and cook briefly. 10. Asparagus can be substituted for broccoli. |
