2 10 oz. packages frozen cut broccoli |
4 tbsps. butter or margarine |
2 tbsps. all-purpose flour |
1/4 tsp. salt |
dash pepper |
1 c. milk |
1 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, cut up |
1 c. soft bread crumbs |
1/4 c. (1 pz.) grated parmesan cheese |
Directions:
1. Cook broccoli according to package directions; drain. 2. In saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine; blend in flour, salt, and pepper. 3. Add milk all at once; cook and stir till thick and bubbly. 4. Reduce heat; blend in cream cheese till smooth. 5. Stir in the broccoli; turn into 1 1/2 quart casserole. 6. Bake in 350 oven for 20 minutes. 7. Melt remaining butter; toss with bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. 8. Sprinkle crumbs over casserole; bake 15 to 20 minutes more. 9. Makes 10 servings. |
