This is a recipe I grew up with. My aunt always made it for special occasions because my sister and I loved it so much. My aunt passed it on to me when I got married and I tweeked it to my families taste. Ingredients:
3 heads fresh broccoli |
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can broccoli cheese soup (i like campbells) |
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1/2 cup mayonnaise |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 cup soft breadcrumbs |
2 tablespoons butter |
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 cups milk |
mckays poultry seasoning, to taste |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan cook the broccoli. 2. Drain. 3. In a bowl blend soups, cheese, and mayonaise and add broccoli. 4. Mix well. 5. Put into a 2 quart casserole dish. 6. In a small pan melt butter, add bread crumbs and toss lightly. 7. Sprinkle buttered crumbs on top and mix. 8. Heat through about 45 minutes at 350. 9. *HomemadeChicken Seasoning Instructions. 10. Melt butter then mix in flour (thoroughly). 11. Add milk little by little. 12. When think, add a couple of teaspoons of McKay's Chicken Seasoning. |
