Need to cut the prep time of this scrumptious dish? Substitute 4 (12 oz.) bags of Green giant Steamers Broccoli and Cheese sauce for the broccoli florets-no extra cheese sauce required. Ingredients:
cheese sauce and vegetables |
2 c milk |
1/4 c flour |
1/4 c butter |
3/4 tsp salt |
1/2 tsp ground pepper |
1 c shredded gruyere cheese |
1 c sour cream |
8 c pre-cut broccoli florets |
8 oz pearl onions |
topping |
1/4 c italian bread crumbs |
1/4 c butter |
2 tbs fresh parsley,chopped |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Make cheese sauce: heat milk,flour butter,salt and pepper in 2 qt saucepan,stirring constantly. Boil and stir1 min. Stir in shredded cheese until melted;stir in sour cream. In 3 qt saucepan,heat water to boiling. add broccoli;cook about 5 mins or till crisp tender. Remove with slotted spoon and drain well. 2. In same saucepanwith boiling water,ccook onions about 2 mins;drain and peel. Spoon broccoli and onions into a shallow 2qt baking dish. Pour cheese sauce over vegetables . 3. In medium bowl,mix melted butter and bread crumbs;spoon over broccoli mixture. 4. Bake ,uncovered,15 to 20 mins or till hot and bubbly. Sprinkle bread crumbs with parsley;serve hot! |
