Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened |
2 cups sugar |
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
3 eggs |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 tablespoon water |
5 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon |
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1 cup finely chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. 2. Dissolve soda in water. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Combine next 3 ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in lemon juice and pecans. Shape dough into a ball. Cover and refrigerate 45 minutes. 3. Turn dough out onto a floured surface, and roll to 1/8-inch thickness; cut dough with cookie cutters. Place on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes. Cool on wire racks. |
