This dish goes well with rice. Ingredients:
a large portion of tamarind |
2 brinjals |
4 tspns sambar powder |
2 tsps salt |
few curry leaves |
10 tspns gingley oil |
1 onion |
1 tsp fenugreek |
3 tspns toor dal |
2 tspn rice flour |
1 tsp mustard seeds |
Directions:
1. Soak the tamarind in hot water for 20 mts n then put in water after filtering the remains 2. Add 3 cups of water to the tamarind water n add curry leaves n keep it aside 3. Heat oil in a pan 4. Fry sliced onions, mustard seeds, fenugreek, toor dal with sambar powder n salt for 5 mts 5. Add brinjals n fry for another 5 mts 6. Now pour the tamarind water with curry leaves to it and cook covered for 20 mts 7. Now mix 2 tspn of rice flour in a small cup of water n add 2 the boiling mixture 8. Stir well for a mt n leave it on flame for 2 mts 9. Serve hot with rice |
