This fluffy, cheesy souffle is a mild comfort food that will please young and old. Ingredients:
6-8 slices white bread; a crusty french loaf works well |
2 cups grated cheese (i use a bag of shredded aged cheddar) |
4 eggs |
2 cups milk |
1 teaspoon dry mustard or prepared mustard |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon paprika |
Directions:
1. Spread 1 cup of cheese over bottom of (7 1/2 x 12 inch) baking dish 2. Cover cheese with bread slices so they just fit 3. Sprinkle rest of cheese over bread 4. Beat eggs. Add milk, mustard, salt and paprika. Mix and pour over bread 5. Cover and refrigerate overnight 6. In the morning take off the cover and bake in a preheated oven, 325, for 45 minutes |
