i wanted something different.. and healthy.. and i wanted to use some left over rice that i had in the fridge... so i tweaked an online recipe... and this is pretty delish if i do say so myself Ingredients:
1 cup cooked brown rice. ( i use minute rice) |
1/2 cup almond milk |
dash of cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1 tablspoon honey or agave maple syrup |
slivered or halved almonds -optional |
fresh berries -optional |
Directions:
1. .Combine the cooked brown rice, milk, cinnamon, honey or syrup, and vanilla in a pot... let simmer for 10 minutes to thicken.. more or less if you dont want it super thick.. 2. if you want teh bluberries to be warm, you can add it in the pot and cook it with the rice, or jsut throw it in at the end with the almonds... |
