Sound so fine and good! Ingredients:
1 cup cornflakes |
unbaked 9-inch pie shell |
5 large tart apples (unpeeled and sliced thin, sprinkled with maple syrup) |
3/4 cup flour |
1/2 cup sugar (brown preferred) |
7 tablespoons butter in small pieces |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Put cornflakes in pie shell. Put apple slices over cornflakes. Set aside. Put remaining ingredients in bowl. Using a pastry blender or your fingers, work butter into flour until the mixture resembles irregular breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the crumbs evenly over the apple slices. Bake the pie for 10 minutes at 450 degrees then reduce the heat to 350 and continue to bake for about 35 minutes or until apples are tender and bubbling. Serve warm. |
