Don't wait to go to a chain restaurant to enjoy these when you can make them so easily in your own kitchen. Ingredients:
1 head of cauliflower, cleaned and broken into florets to have about 5 cups. |
4 egg yolks |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 teaspoon onion powder |
1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs |
grated parmesan cheese |
3/4 -1 cup butter |
naturally fresh honey mustard dressing for dipping (if you can't find the naturally fresh brand, use your favorite dipping sauce) |
Directions:
1. Place cauliflower and a small amount of water in a skillet. 2. Bring to a boil. 3. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until crisp-tender, takes about 8 minutes. 4. Drain and set aside. 5. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and seasonings. 6. Put bread crumbs and about 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese in a large, resealable plastic bag. 7. Add a few cauliflower florets at a time to the egg mixture and coat. 8. Using a slotted spoon, put coated florets into bread crumb mixture and toss to coat. 9. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Using a slotted spoon, put coated florets into batches and cook until golden brown. 10. Remove and drain on paper towel-covered plate. 11. Place on serving dish with dipping sauce and enjoy. |
