From Mom's Spiral Recipe Notebook Ingredients:
4 cups scalded milk |
3 eggs |
2 cups sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
1/2 loaf bread |
2 teaspoons cinnamon or 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg or 1/2 cup raisins |
Directions:
1. This will take at least 1/2 loaf of bread. 2. Mix eggs, sugar, salt, & vanilla. 3. Add scalded milk. 4. Wet the bread with water but squeeze as much of it out as possible. 5. Make layers of bread, covering with above mixture. 6. Sprinkle good with cinnamon and/or nutmeg, and add raisins if desired. 7. Bake in a greased oven safe bowl in an oven at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes until pudding is set. |
