The toated wheat germ gives the bread a whole grain flavor. This recipe comes from the Better Homes and Gardens Bread Machine Book and makes a 1-1/2 pound loaf. Ingredients:
1 cup buttermilk |
1/4 cup water |
2 teaspoons butter |
3 cups bread flour |
2 tablespoons toasted wheat germ |
1 tablespoon sugar |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon active dry yeast |
Directions:
1. Select the 1 1/2 pound loaf size. 2. Add the ingredients to the machine according to manufacturer's directions. 3. Select the basic white bread cycle. |
