I've had this recipe for a long time, so I don't know where it came from. Sourdough in a bread machine probably is a sacrilege for a native Californian, but I do love my bread machine! Makes a one pound loaf. Ingredients:
3/4 cup sourdough starter |
3/8 cup (1/4 cup plus 2 tbs) milk |
1 tbs butter |
2 cups bread flour |
1-1/2 tbs sugar |
1-1/2 tsp active dry yeast |
1 tsp salt |
Directions:
1. *Bring to room temperature.
2. Put all ingredients in machine according to manufacturer's instructions. Use the white bread setting for a one pound loaf. I used the medium crust setting.
