This is a Fleischmann's recipe... that I saw and thought of my foodie friends that have asked for more bread machine recipes... so I thought I would post it....it sounds good Ingredients:
-pound loaf |
1/2 cup milk |
1 large egg |
1 tablespoon butter or margarine |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
2 cups bread flour |
1/4 cup pitted dates, halved |
1/4 cup coarsely chopped almonds, toasted |
2 teaspoons instant coffee crystals |
1-1/2 teaspoons fleischmann's bread machine yeast |
coffee icing dissolve 1 teaspoon instant coffee crystals in 1 teaspoon hot water. stir in 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar and enough milk (1 to 2 teaspoons) to make icing of drizzling consistency. |
Directions:
1. Use the 1-pound recipe if your machine pan holds 10 cups or less of water. Add all ingredients except icing to bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer, adding dates and almonds with flour. (If dough is too dry or stiff or too soft or slack, adjust dough consistency - see Adjusting Dough Consistency tip below.) Drizzle cooled loaf with Coffee Icing. 2. Recommended cycle: Basic/white bread cycle; light or medium/normal color setting |
