This is a fun activity to do with the kids. I have made the bread with my preschoolers at school. Ingredients:
1 pkg. yeast |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 t. sugar |
1 tsp, salt |
2 t, butter |
1 cup very warm water |
1 1/2 cups flour ( more if needed) |
1 gal. size zip lock bag |
Directions:
1. Into the bag place; 2. yeast 3. 1 1/2 cups flour 4. sugar 5. salt 6. Add: 7. butter and warm water 8. Press most of the air from the bag and seal. 9. Press and squeeze the bag with your hands until dough is mixed. 10. Open bag. 11. Add last of the flour. 12. If dough is sticky add a little more flour. 13. Unzip the bag. 14. Let rest for 20 min. 15. Spray pan with no stick cooking spray. 16. Put dough in pan. 17. Let rest until double in size. (1 hour) 18. Preheat oven 375 degrees. 19. Bake for 25- 30 min. |
