These unique little dumplings are seasoned with bacon and onion. Delicious with soup! Ingredients:
10 white dinner rolls |
2 cups lukewarm milk |
1 tablespoon butter |
1/2 cup diced cooked ham |
1 small onion, chopped |
1 tablespoon chopped parsley |
3 eggs, lightly beaten |
salt and pepper to taste |
1 pinch ground nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Slice rolls finely and soak in milk, until moist but not soggy. 2. Melt butter in a small skillet and saute ham with onion and parsley. 3. Fill a large saucepan with salted water and bring to a boil. Meanwhile, add eggs, salt, pepper and nutmeg to bread/milk mixture and combine with ham/onion saute. Mix well and shape into dumplings. 4. Cook in salted water for 20 minutes and serve immediately. |
