BREAD CHEESE OMELET This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Willingham Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1984. Ingredients:
1/2 cup bread crumbs |
1/2 cup milk |
4 eggs |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon black pepper |
1 tablespoon butter |
3 tablespoons cheese |
Directions:
1. Soak bread crumbs in warmed milk. 2. Add salt, pepper, well beaten eggs and grated cheese. 3. Have a frying pan heated and melt 1 tablespoon butter in it. 4. Into this pour the egg mixture and place on top of range where it will cook evenly. 5. When nicely browned underneath place pan in oven to finish cooking on top. 6. Remove from oven then fold and turn on a hot platter. |
