This is another recipe clipping that Mom collected. I am sure there is one here on Zaar, but I just want to put it here for safe keeping. These are all cut out of magazines and I have no idea which magazine or paper they came from. Some are even newspaper clippings. Ingredients:
4 quarts cucumbers, sliced |
6 medium onions, sliced |
2 green bell peppers, chopped |
3 red bell peppers, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, whole |
1/3 cup salt, table |
5 cups sugar |
1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric |
1 1/2 teaspoons celery seeds |
2 tablespoons mustard, seed |
3 cups cider vinegar |
Directions:
1. Do not pare cucumbers. 2. Slice thin. 3. Add onions, peppers, garlic, and salt. 4. Cover with cracked ice. 5. Mix thoroghly. 6. Combine remaining ingredients. 7. Pour over cucumbers. 8. Heat just to a boil. 9. Seal in a hot sterlized jars. |
