Bread, Apple, Raisin Dressing for Turkey |

This recipe is from my SIL Peg Kenaga. It is a White House recipe from 11/24/69 Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter |
1 cup onion, chopped |
1 cup celery, chopped |
1/2 cup raisins |
4 cups apples, cored, pared, and chopped |
6 cups fresh bread cubes |
1 tablespoon salt |
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning |
1 cup chicken stock |
1 tablespoon parsley |
3 eggs, beaten |
Directions:
1. Melt the butter in a large skillet. Saute onions and celery until tender. 2. Combine the remaining ingredients in a large bowl and add the celery and onion. 3. Toss lightly with a fork until well mixed. 4. Put dressing in a covered greased baking pan. 5. Bake for 1 hour 350°F for 1 hour. |
