Bread And Butter Pudding With Bourbon Sauce |

Ingredients:
1/2 (16-ounce) loaf french bread, broken into 1-inch pieces |
5 1/2 cups milk, divided |
1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted |
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted |
8 eggs, beaten |
2 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |

Directions:
1. Combine bread cubes and 2 cups milk in a large mixing bowl; let stand 5 minutes. Place mixture in a 12- x 8- x 2-inch baking dish; sprinkle with pecans. Pour melted butter over mixture. Toss gently. 2. Combine remaining milk, eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla, mixing well; pour over bread mixture. Let stand 1 hour. 3. Place baking dish in a pan of warm water. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm with Bourbon Sauce. |
