My dad's favorite summer treat Hot water bath canning method Ingredients:
6 cucumbers, sliced |
6 onions, sliced |
1 green pepper, sliced |
1 red pepper, sliced |
3 garlic cloves |
1/3 cup salt |
5 cups sugar |
3 cups white vinegar |
2 tablespoons mustard seeds |
1 1/2 teaspoons celery seeds |
1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric |
Directions:
1. Cover cucumbers with salt and them ice cubes in a large bowl for three hours. 2. Drain well. 3. Add onion, peppers, garlic. 4. Place all other ingredients in large pot and bring to a boil. 5. Add cucumber mix and bring to second boil. 6. Place in jars and use water bath to seal - approximately 10 minutes. |
