From Grandma's handwritten recipe box. No name or date. I love nuts and would love to try this one soon. I noticed there is no mention of butter, I am assuming that the naural oils of the nuts and the eggs are enough. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups brazil nuts |
1 1/2 cups walnuts |
150 g dates, pitted |
1/2 cup raisins |
1 cup glace cherries |
3/4 cup self raising flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup caster sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Blend the nus to they become a meal or almost flour. 2. Place all the ingredients in a large bowl and beat with a wooden spoon. 3. Pour mixture into a 20cm round tin, greased and lined. 4. Bake at 180oC for 45 minutes. |
