Smooth spread which can be used as an appetizer or a main course Ingredients:
1 cup haricot beans |
1 tin tuna |
2 tbs. cream or olive oil |
1/4 cup swiss cheese |
1/4 cup parmesan cheese |
2tbs. butter |
2 cloves garlic |
salt and pepper to taste |
1/4 cup soft breadcrumbs and butter for topping |
Directions:
1. Cook beans and garlic for 2 hrs in boiling water. 2. Drain and puree until smooth with cream/olive oil, tuna, and a little of the bean liquid. 3. When smooth add cheese and salt and pepper to taste. 4. Spread in a greased ovenproof dish and top with a layer of fresh breadcrumbs. 5. Dot the surface with butter and bake at about 375 degrees for 20mins. It needs to be brown on top and hot right through |
