This is from a box of Bran Cereal, I haven't tried it yet. The recipe says to serve it with butter or cream cheese. Ingredients:
2 cups all-bran cereal |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1 cup dates, chopped |
1 cup dried apricot, chopped |
150 g walnuts |
1 cup self-rising flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup milk |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
1 large egg, lightly beaten |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 180°C Lightly grease and line a 10cm by 20cm loaf tin. 2. Combine first 7 ingredients in a medium bowl. Pour in milk, oil and egg and stir until well combined. 3. Spoon mixture into prepared tin and bake for 30 minutes. Cover with foil and bake for a further 15 to 20 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. rest in pan for 5 minutes before turning out. |
