Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or margarine |
8 large leeks (about 3 pounds), cleaned |
1 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a large heavy skillet; add leeks, tossing well to coat with butter. Cover and cook over medium heat 10 minutes. Add water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook over low heat 15 minutes or until leeks are tender. Drain well. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. |
