Braised Beef With Sun-Dried Tomatoes |

This is great comfort food. I serve with mashed potatoes. Ingredients:
2 teaspoons olive oil |
1 lb beef stew meat |
1/4 cup rough chopped onion |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1/2 tablespoon flour |
3/4 cup water |
1/2 cup red wine |
1/2 cup beef broth |
1/2 cup sun-dried tomato |
1/2 tablespoon brown sugar |
1/2 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
3/4 teaspoon rosemary |
1 bay leaf |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
Directions:
1. Brown beef in olive oil. 2. Add onion and cook 7 minutes. 3. Add garlic and cook 1 minute. 4. Add flour, cook 2 minutes. 5. Add remaining ingredients and reduce heat to medium low. Simmer 1 hour and remove tomatoes. Set aside. 6. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. |
