Bowtie Pasta with Mushrooms and Sausage |

Yummy budget dinner, Italian type. Just add salad, bread and dessert. Could reduce fat by using Chicken Italian sausage. Ingredients:
8 oz bowtie pasta |
12 oz italian sausage |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
12 oz mushrooms |
1 bell pepper |
1 onion |
2 cups marinara sauce |
1/4 cup parmesan cheese |
Directions:
1. cook 8 oz pasta according to directions; drain. In a large non-stick skillet on medium heat, cook 12 oz sweet Italian sausage links (1-inch-pieces) 10 minutes or until broned and cooked through. Remove sausage; set aside. In skillet heat 1 tablespoon olive oil on medium. Add 12 oz fresh sliced mushrooms, 1 medium corsely chopped green bell pepper and 1 medium chopped onion; cook and stir 8 minutes or until softenend. Add cooked sausage and 2 cups marinara sauce. Cook 5 minutes or until heated through. Ladle sauce over hot pasta; sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan cheese. |
