So quick and easy, but your guests will think you spent hours on this rich flavourful sauce. My sons favourite pasta dish. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 lb sweet italian sausage, casings removed and crumbled |
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes |
1/2 cup onion, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
1 (28 ounce) can diced italian-style tomatoes |
1 1/2 cups heavy cream |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 (12 ounce) package bow tie pasta |
3 tablespoons parsley, chopped |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a large, deep skillet over med heat. 2. Cook sausage and pepper flakes until sausage is no longer pink, about 7 minutes. 3. Stir in onion and garlic and cook until onion is tender. 4. Stir in tomatoes, cream and salt. Simmer until mixture thickens, 8-10 minutes. 5. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8-10 minutes or until al dente; drain. 6. Stir cooked pasta into sauce, and heat through. Sprinkle each serving with parsley. |
